Entry Requirements:  A Valid passport along with a return airline ticket is required for U.S. citizens

Language:   English, often with a West Indian Lilt

Climate:  Average year-round date time temperature is 77-85 degrees F, with about 10 degree cooler.  Water temperatures in the BVI are very comfortable reaching a high of 85F in the summer months and seldom dropping below 76 degrees in the winter

Investors:  The currency of the BVI is U.S. dollars.  Major credit cards are accepted in many of but not all establishments.  there is a 10 cent stamp duty on all cheques and travelers checks.  An American Express office is located in Road Town

What to Wear:  Comfortable, casual resort wear is acceptable everywhere.

Taxes and other Charges:  There is a 7% government tax on accomodations, and up to 15% for service charges.  There is an additional departure tax of $5.00 per person for those departing by air, $4.00 per person by sea.  Tax is charged on gross income with average % on first $3K to %20 on all income exceeding $22,501..  Land tax: Expatriates pay $150 on parcel of land totaling one half (1/2) on a acre or less.
